Davido has won the award as the best male artiste in Africa at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards.
The Nigerian pop star was recognized on the night, beatingWizkid, South Africa’s AKA, Tanzanian Diamond Platnumz, andGhana’s Sarkodie.
The award which held last night (July 18) in Durban, South Africa also saw other Nigerian acts come out successful
The duo of Peter and Paul Okoye, won two awards on the big night. They were recipients of the 'Best Group’ award, beating South Africa’s house sensations, Beatenberg, Kenya’s power musicians, Sauti Sol, and Angola’s B4.
They also won a non-voting category, ‘Artiste of the decade’, in recognition of their successful longevity at the top of African music.
This award adds more shine to a glittering career filled with many highs and few public lows. They have released 6 albums, 2 compilations, and featured some of the best in world music.
